Tourism in the rain in Mexico City

Sharing is caring!

As the southern hemisphere enters full foot into winter, the northern hemisphere begins to warm up and dreads these terrible days of extreme heat. Hopefully we don’t have such intense heat waves this year as previous summers, right? But hey, while those in the north can travel south on vacation and escape the heat, those in the south, with winter vacations, come north to enjoy a few warm days. In North America, one of the most interesting countries from the point of view of historical, cultural and natural beauties in Mexico.

Mexico has it all, beautiful beaches, ancient ruins, mysteries, museums, a great colonial past… what more could you ask for? The front door of this country is generally the DF, the Federal District or Mexico City. It is a huge and cosmopolitan city, with shops, theatres, cinemas, malls, restaurants, bars and museums. You should spend a few days there before continuing your trip to the Caribbean coast, which I know is one of the favorite destinations for many tourists. But is it really hot in Mexico City? Well, the city has a temperate climate and generally does not experience extreme temperatures. Thus, while in winter the maximum temperature is 18°C, in summer it is around 28°C. Although it is a tolerable temperature between May and September It is raining hardalmost every day.

Next, what can you do when it rains in DF? Well, you can visit the National Archaeological Museum, the National History Museum-Castillo de Chapultepec, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Frida Khalo Museum, the Mining Palace, the house of tiles and the horrifying exhibition of instruments of torture and capital punishment on Calle de Tacuba. As you can see, in your itinerary you must include covered places, so if it is raining the best thing to do in Mexico City is not to leave a museum without seeing it.
